The use of energy-saving ceiling fans requires regular maintenance. In addition to ensuring the stability of structural components, it is also important to ensure the proper operation of the motor. This article takes the mainstream asynchronous reduction motor and permanent magnet synchronous motor as examples to introduce the daily maintenance from before motor startup to motor operation.

  1. Before motor startup: Before starting the energy-saving ceiling fan motor, the staff needs to check the power supply to determine if there is electricity and if the voltage is stable. Unstable voltage can cause significant damage to the motor. Additionally, it is necessary to ensure the normal functioning of the motor starter by checking the integrity, good connections, and correct wiring of starter components. It is particularly important to pay attention to the motor itself. This requires inspecting the motor's terminal board, checking the wiring connections, and ensuring that the fuse specifications used by the motor match its working specifications. Lastly, before motor startup, it is important to check the motor's working environment and location, remove debris and dust near the motor, and ensure that the motor operates in a good working environment. Of course, most of these inspections are usually conducted by the fan manufacturer during installation and after-sales service.

  2. During motor startup: When starting a large ceiling fan, if the motor does not respond (i.e., the fan does not run) after turning on the power, the motor power should be immediately disconnected. During the initial startup, it is necessary to check and observe the operation of the motor's transmission device. If any abnormal conditions occur, the motor power should be immediately cut off, and troubleshooting should be carried out. Only after confirming that the fault has been resolved, the motor can be started again. It is important to focus on the previously faulty parts. When starting the motor, follow the motor's operating instructions and operate the motor step by step. For example, when starting the motor, first place the motor switch in the startup position. Once the motor enters a stable working state, switch the motor to the running position.

  3. During motor operation: During motor operation, relevant personnel needs to constantly monitor the motor's operating status. It is particularly important to monitor the motor's temperature when it is running. To prevent the motor from operating at high temperatures, which can easily occur under heavy load, personnel should monitor the motor's temperature to ensure it does not exceed the highest design temperature for normal use. The temperature can be checked by touching the motor with hands or by using a water droplet test on the motor's casing. Observing the evaporation process of the water droplets can provide an indication. The most accurate method is to use a thermometer to measure the motor's temperature. If the motor's temperature is found to be too high during operation, it should be immediately stopped, and the power should be disconnected until the technical personnel has resolved the motor fault before resuming use.

Finally, if the motor experiences severe vibrations, abnormal noises, or a pungent burnt smell during operation, it should be immediately stopped, and the motor should be inspected or contacted with the fan manufacturer for on-site testing and maintenance.

Mar .04.2026
The energy consumption of industrial large fans' motors is influenced by multiple factors, which can be mainly classified into three categories: the performance of the motor itself, the operating conditions, and the usage environment. Reasonable control of these factors can significantly enhance energy efficiency and reduce operating costs. The performance of the motor itself is the foundation, and different types of motors have obvious differences in energy consumption...
How to Select an Industrial Large Fan Suitable for a Gym How to Select an Industrial Large Fan Suitable for a Gym

First, pay attention to the size and air volume of the industrial large fan, which is the basis for adapting to the space of the gym. The size of the gym directly determines the choice of the fan. Generally, the diameter of the industrial large fan is positively correlated with the air volume and coverage area. The larger the diameter, the more sufficient the air volume it generates, and the wider the fitness area it can cover. When choosing, it is necessary to combine the actual area of the gym to ensure that the air volume of the fan can meet the overall ventilation needs, creating a refreshing and not stuffy exercise environment for members and avoiding the indoor stuffiness caused by insufficient ventilation...

With the upgrading of the manufacturing industry and the implementation of the "dual carbon" strategy, industrial plants have increasingly strict requirements for ventilation and cooling systems. The pain points of traditional ventilation equipment, such as high energy consumption and uneven coverage, urgently need to be solved. Industrial large fans (HVLS) have become the preferred solution for more and more enterprises to improve plant environments and reduce operating costs due to their prominent advantages of high energy efficiency, wide-area coverage, safety and reliability, injecting new vitality into industrial green production.
